Mail day!!!

I don't get a lot of mail that's "just for me" usually, but today I received two pkgs!!! I went in with 2 friends (thanks gals!) & we ordered several designs from A Mon Ami Pierre in France http://www.amonamipierre.net/ and they came today, which was QUICK!! I ordered them over the weekend & she mailed them on Monday - that's 4 days from France. They are just gorgeous and I can't wait to get started on them. I also had ordered a cut of 36 ct Light Sand Edinboro, my current fav fabric, and it arrived today as well.

Another of my friends had started DT's Wayward Garden & decided she wasn't going to finish it, so she sent me the chart & about 3/4 of the Needlepoint silks needed to stitch it, wasn't that so sweet of her? I just love the design and can't wait to get the rest of the threads & some fabric and get it into my ever growing list of "to do's".

I'm still working on LHN's "These I Hold Dear". I haven't had much stitching time lately but I hope to finish it soon!!

Three finishes to share.....

This is a Hob-Nobb Design called Happy Easter Doodle. It's stitched on a pale yellow opalescent fabric, though I don't remember what it is since I stitched it last year. Hey, at least it's finished before Easter this year, right? The ribbon is a bit more "pink" than it looks in the picture. I am really not very good at taking pics. Will have to get Ray to give me some pointers! Anyway, the design is just adorable and who doesn't love that little bunny button? Hob-Nobb has some adorable designs. Oh, and the backing fabric for the "egg" is the Easter egg fabric shown in the background.

This is Shepherd's Bush True Friend. I decided it needed to be a pinkeep. The fabric on the back is the same as the background in the pic. It matches great I think.

The bunny is from LHN's "Strawberries". I just love bunnies and thought he was really cute! I stitched it a few nights ago just to make this tape measure cover, which I'm not to happy with, BUT I will do another & keep trying until I get it right, or at least better than this! You know how that old saying goes, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"! The green background fabric is what I used for the back and for the edging of the tape measure.

I haven't stitched at all in days... let's hope I get something accomplished tonight! Thanks for looking & have a great week ahead!

I'm not lost....

I'm still here, just had a busy week & haven't been stitching due to a shoulder problem. I hope to get something done today though. I have a small item finish that I want to do so badly, so that's top on my list. I also plan to go through my stash & make a sale/trade list. I hope to get that much started at least. I will post a pic or two later!
The weather is so beautiful here (sunny & low 80's) and I LOVE it! The only thing I don't like is that everything is yellow from all the pollen. And there seems to be an over abundance of bees this year too, they're everywhere! The flowers are starting to bloom and my 108 bulbs I planted in January are really starting to show. I just love flowers....

Two Finishes today.....

My first Biscornu.... I wish the pic was a little better, but you get the idea. The design is from Cat's Whiskers using a Dinky Dyes thread on Antique White Cashel. I have my initials and 2007 stitched on the back.

And my first pinkeep is from With My Needles Ackworth Friendship Book. It's stitched on 36 ct Antique White Edinboro with CC's Belle Soie Chesters Blue.

I'm back to stitching on LNH's "These I Hold Dear". Will take a pic soon... the batteries have to be charged for the camera!

Current Stitching Projects....

First, gotta share my "stash" of Thimbleberries fat quarters I recieved a couple of days ago. I LOVE fabrics, and these are fantastic!! Can't wait to use them in some finishes!

This is from With My Needles Ackworth Friendship Book. I was going to make it into a pinkeep but I might do something else with it. I'm not sure yet.... any suggestions? It's stitched on 36 ct Antique White Edinboro with the new Chester's Blue Crescent Colours Silk. Really nice thread!

This is one of my WIP's. I've been working on this off & on for a couple of weeks. It's from the Little House Needleworks Dear Diary series. I changed most of the colors and I like the way it's turning out. Hope to finish it soon, just have to spend more time stitching!

Thanks for letting me share! Happy stitching!

Birthday goodies to share...

Here are a few birthday gifts I received from friends. Thanks gals, they're much appreciated!!

These are the stitching goodies from SandyLA. She also sent me a beautiful Willow Tree Angel Friendship Box (I collect Willow Tree) and a really sweet framed friendship poem as well as oodles of sweet little items, mostly with pansies & gardening themes. I've already put them all "away" so they're not in the pic, but I loved it all! Thanks again Sandy!!!!

This is a lovely pinkeep that BeckySC stitched for me! I was very surprised to receive such a sweet stitched gift & I just love it! Thank you again Becky!!!

These goodies are from Fiona in Scotland. She keeps me in Smarties and Malteasers! :-) I love Victoria's Sampler Summer Sampler... can't wait to stitch this one. And I have 2 new charms for my Italian Charm Bracelet, the Scottish Flag & a Tartan, love them! Thanks Fiona!

This is a pain....

I just spent 20 minutes trying to log to get to the darn blog! It kept telling me I'm not who I said I was. I am, I went & looked in the mirror and it IS me! Yeah, I'm funny aren't I?

I started a pinkeep on Sunday evening and I hope to finish the stitching tonight. I will pick up some pins tomorrow while I'm out. I'm not sure what's next on my list.... maybe I should close my eyes & throw a dart at it or something? HOW do you choose what to stitch next? After I finished the Mermaid, I'm in no hurry to pick up another large piece of fabric this week! ;-) Maybe I'll find another small project to stitch and hopefully finish by the weekend.

Tomorrow one of my stitching friends is coming by on her way to a stitching weekend at the beach. I'm looking forward to seeing her! She is staying over in a hotel & we will spend a little time together before she heads off to the beach on Thursday. I wish I could hop in the car & go with her, but there is too much to do around here this week. Oh well... another time!

Hopefully I'll have some pics to post tomorrow or the next day. That's all for now I think! ;-)
Happy stitching everyone!!

My first entry....

My first blog entry & I have no idea where to start, so just laugh with me while I stumble along here! ;-) I started this blog to share my stitching and my love of all things cross stitch. I have been told I eat, sleep & breath stitching, and I think that's pretty much all true.

My first pic is of Mirabilia's Enchanted Mermaid. I started her on Jan. 1st, 2007 & finished last night, March 3rd. I think she's beautiful. She is stitched on 32 ct Belfast Cascade by Silkweaver. I'm sending her to Jill Rensel for custom mats & then my husband will frame her when she comes "home". Thanks for looking & hopefully I will get the hang of blogging soon! Happy stitching!
