You Belong in Spring |
Optimistic, lively, and almost always happy with the world... You can truly appreciate the blooming nature of spring. Whether you're planting flowers or dyeing Easter eggs, spring is definitely your season! |
Enjoyment is not a goal, it is a feeling that accompanies important ongoing activity. (I think this includes stitching, stamping, paper crafting & sewing!)

What season are you?

It's Sunday.....
and I hope to find some stitching time this afternoon. I started an exchange piece for the SBEBB last night & want to get back to it. I put it down as we started watching "The Holiday" and it had my attention. Jude Law is such a cutie and I liked the movie. It's actually the first movie we've watched in months so it was a nice break.
We spent Saturday out of town, picking up a few more things we needed for the house & returning a few things we didn't need afterall. Ray took me to lunch at Chili's & it was really good, but goodness are the portions HUGE or what? I had enough left that we shared it last night for dinner!
I still don't have any pics to share as one set of camera batteries need charging & I have to admit, I let Ray handle that kind of thing. I meant to ask him to change them out before bed last nigh but I forget and he's already out working on the house. We decided to take the 2 week extension in our contract to get the house done & get moved. The buyers of our current home were VERY nice about it & said we could have 3 if we needed it, but hopefully that won't be necessary. Besides, we don't want to take a chance on "breaking" the contract! Anyway... we won't be moving next weekend as planned, which is okay. There is still so much to do!
If you're still reading, I hope you have a lovely day & I might have some pics to share by tonight!!
Hugs,
Amy

Why is it...
that everytime I *think* I'm going to get back into my UFO/WIP "pile" something new comes along to tempt me? I just love Martina Dey's designs, esp. her Quakers. She told me last week about a new "personalized Quaker" she was working on and dear Ruth sent me a link to the group yesterday, here it is if you haven't seen it yet http://www.wiehenburg.de/25.html and now I MUST do this! My plans are to have R&A 2008 put in the center, stitch it in red as shown in the first pic and add my own "20" down in the motif towards the bottom right. It will be our 20th Anniversary piece next year. With that being said, it MUST be done next year, right? ;-) I can't wait to get the first part of the pattern on June 1st. Hopefully I can get started on it and keep up with it, at least most weeks.
Happy stitching,
Amy

A Couple of Quick Finishes & WIP Pics....
I have a couple of quick finishes to share and 3 "WIP" pics. I hope to get back to all 3 of the WIP pieces very soon, maybe even a bit today! Sorry but I didn't iron any of them before I took pics.
First, I stitched my part on a Pals RR last night, was one of the easiest ever. She chose the Lizzie Kate Flip-It's from 2002 as here RR. I stitched Oct because I like Halloween! There are 9 people in the RR total and this was the first one I've received. I think a Prairie Schooler design will be arriving next!

Last weekend I stitched LHN's Ladybug, Ladybug, but only the pot of geraniums. I didn't want the words or the border. I'm not sure how I'm going to finish it yet, but I like it anyway. I have big pots of red gerainums on either side of my front door.
Here is my Personalized Sampler by Stephanie of Nouvear Encore Designs. I started on it last year & haven't stitched on it at all since early Oct. Shame on me! It's being stitched on 36 ct Flax Edinboro using WDW Eggplant. It will be beautiful when it's finished. There is a computer generated pic of it as well.... what it will look like someday!

And last but not least is "And A Forest Grew" by Rosewood Manor. I have the top half pretty much finished, but not quite. There is more on the right side. I put it down when I got the personalized sampler above, so it hasn't been worked on in quite awhile.
Sorry, but I can't make the two pics match up! lol
With some encouragement, I think I can get this one finished in a "reasonable" amount of time!
Thanks for looking & happy stitching,
Amy

Here is my little bit of progress on AMAP's Victoria's Quaker. I'm stitching on 36 ct Light Sand Edinboro using Anchor 44. I love the way it looks, just wish I had more done on it.

I've been Tagged...
Nancy tagged me & I'll post the 7 things about myself, but I'm not going to tag anyone else. Hope no one minds. You're welcome to "tag" yourself if you like though! ;-)
7 Things About Me (mostly silly)
1. I'm totally addictied to stash... I have more than I could ever stitch in 3 lifetimes, but I won't stop buying!
2. I used to be a professional crafter with my own pattern line.
3. One of my fav things is to see the sun rise or set over the ocean (wish I still lived at the beach sometimes!)
4. I'm not the least afraid of getting up in front of a crowd of people to speak. (And I don't care if I look silly! LOL)
5. I drink only water 99.9% of the time.
6. I love chocolate cereal!
7. I cry over all kinds of movies & even those Hallmark commericals!
Okay, there you go!
Hugs,
Amy

So much going on.....
I've stitched a bit but haven't had time to take pics lately. I'll try to get a pic or two very soon though!
We're getting to the "almost moving time" stage with our new house. Hopefully we'll be all moved in by June 3rd. Cross your fingers for us. I have a few pics of the inside, but it's not completely finished, even though Ray is working extra hard. Two of my fav rooms so far are the bathrooms! I know, odd huh? BUT the kitchen isn't finished yet, and I think it's going to be my fav. Wanna see the bathrooms? ;-) They're almost done...
The first 2 pics are of the 2nd bathroom. The cove molding still has to be painted & put around the tub. Other than that, it's finished.

Master Bath
Below are a few pics from the master bath (sorry they're slightly crooked). No, no big fancy tub. We take showers and I picked out a nice big cultured marble shower that you really can't see in these picss and I love it! Ray still has to build a linen cabinet & get it installed. It's finished other than that. I know, I'm odd... showing pics of bathrooms.... but the bedrooms are just big empty rooms (as you can see from the last pic, that's the master bedroom!) & the kitchen & living room aren't done yet.... ;-)

If you're still reading, thanks for checking in on me. I hope to have more interesting things for you soon, like stitching & stash pics! ;-) Hugs, Amy

The Potting Shed Exchange....
I see that Toni received the exchagne piece I sent her in the USEBB group so I thought I'd post a pic here. The exchange theme was "The Potting Shed". The piece I finally decided to stitch is also called "The Potting Shed" by Elizabeth's Designs. I changed a few of the colors a bit & used some hand-dyed threads and finished it as a pinkeep. The fabric in the backgroud is what's on the back. I added a few extras and I hope that she enjoy's it all.
I actually stitched for several hours last night. There wasn't anything Ray needed help with in the house and I just wasn't up to packing boxes. I will be helping & packing today though, but I hope to finish my "quick stitch" tonight. I'll post a pic when it's done!
Thanks for looking & have a great weekend,
Amy

Many thanks To KatrinaD!
Katrina sent me a wonderful package today with a lovely stitched gift in the USEBB Potting Shed exchange! She sent SB's Bee Necklace! It's stitched on both sides and it's just adorable! And look at all the other wonderful goodies, I just love it all!!!!! :-) I tried to get a close up of both sides of the necklace but I'm not much of a photographer & they kept coming out blurry. I'll try to get Ray to take a pic when has a sec! Thanks again Katrina!!!
Happy stitching,
Amy

I actually STITCHED!!!

Yeah, finally! I have stitched a bit & have finished a couple of exchange pieces and have a RR ready to mail tomorrow (only a week late!). I chose Flowers of the Field by Deborah Lambein as it goes well with two other floral pieces that I have that also happen to be RR's. And it has bunnies on it... who can resist the bunnies!?!
:-) I did make a couple of color changes - I used overdyed floss for the word "Flowers" and the bunnies. I also changed the browns in the borders to a lighter shade. I like it, so that's what counts, right? Sandy, it's going out tomorrow, so be on the lookout for it! :-)
I am looking forward to getting moved so I can sit & stitch more at night! Just another few weeks to a month or so.... hope all goes smoothly, keep us in your thoughts & prayers, we sure could use them!!!!
Have a great week ahead & hope you find lots of stitching time!

So much going on.....
I haven't posted in awhile & I haven't really been stitching enough to talk about lately. I think I'm going into withdrawal! :-( Hopefully things will settle down soon & I can stitch a bit more. I'm trying to get a RR ready to mail out. It was supposed to go Monday and it will likely go Friday. It's okay though, the person it's going to is fine with it. I'm ready to get back to some serious stitching soon!!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!! Happy stitching!
