It's FINISHED!!!!!

I know you can't see me happy dancing, but trust me, I am! Take a look at all these pics & you'll see why... ;-)

Just Nan's Queen Bluebird Box
32 Flax Belfast
Soie D'Alger Silk floss

Pretty cute huh? I DO NOT want to make another of these for awhile, I can promise you that, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. :-) It's supposed to have a bluebird sitting on top, but I didn't much care for that. I added a Ladybug Bead (also from Just Nan) on the top, and yes, I put it at an angle on purpose. :-) I like it better than the bluebird personally!

Thanks for stopping by & HAPPY STITCHING! :-)

An Update...

I have the Just Nan Bluebird Box stitched & ready to start "finishing"... wish me luck! :-)
Thanks for stopping by & I HOPE to have some great pics to show by the end of the week! :-) Happy stitching!!

Great Saturday, a new friend & a gift

Yesterday was a really great day. I had two friends over to stitch.... Nicole, who has been coming about once a month and as always, it was great to see her. We have so much in common & I'm not really sure who is more "addictied" to stitching/stash, me or her! It's always wonderful to spend the day with Nicole! And recently I "met" Faye via email and she came yesterday too. We had a great time & I think she fits into the "addicted" category right along with the rest of us!
:-) She brought me a lovely stitched gift - here are pics of the front & back.

Plum Street Samplers "In God We Trust"

Isn't it great & wasn't that so very thoughtful of her? It's finished so nicely too, thank you again Faye! I hope she will be able to visit more as well.

As far as stitching, I started the ornament for Becky SC, the last one in the 08/09 Monthly Ornament Exchange. I didn't finish it as I put it down last night to stitch in the Just Nan Bluebird Box. It's coming along nicely & I hope to get it finished soon!

Thanks to Nicole, I'm going to pull out yet another chart by Country Cottage to start next! lol Yes, I have to blame it on someone. If you haven't browsed Nicole's Flickr albums, you must. OMG, what a treat. I've met a lot of really fast stitcher's over the years, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone with albums so full of pics. It's just amazing. I could sit for hours and go through blogs & albums, adding to my "wish" list on almost every single one, but then I wouldn't have any time to stitch these things on my very long & ever growing list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm headed out to my parents for awhile and then home to stitch. Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stitching!

Exchange Received!

This is my 4th & final exchange from Becky in the 08/09 Seasonal Exchange group we've been in. Becky stitched this La D Da Alphabet freebie for me with lovely red silk floss & finished it into an adorable pillow, isn't it cute? I love the fabric too!

As extras, she included q-snaps (which will really come in handy since I want to start several more pieces right away!) and some thread I needed, and a bag of M&M's. I have a weakness for M&M's - but I haven't opened them just yet! I know, a lot of willpower I have huh? ;-) Thanks again Becky!!! We had to go back to Sumter yesterday & I had a doctor's appt, so we took the day off. It's a good thing as we were gone for about 7-8 hours. I came home with a terrible headache & did nothing the rest of the evening.

I HOPE to get back to stitching this evening, cross your fingers for me.

Thanks for stopping by & happy stitching!!

2 WIP pics....

I've been stitching a bit since I finished the SB last week. I've started two new projects in the past week (with a 3rd coming soon I think!). First is Brenda Keyes/The Sampler Company "Heaven Doth Ask". It's on 25 ct Antique Ivory being stitched over 1. This one will take awhile, but it will be gorgeous when it's done. Yep, see, a lot done huh? ;-) LOL

Next is Just Nan's Queen's Bluebird Box. I started it on Saturday & this is how far I've gotten to this point. Backstitching around the outside is the hardest part because the thread is the same color as the fabric. This will be so worth it when done though, only I won't be adding that bluebird on the top. I stitched the Halloween Box when it came out & boy is it cute too! :-) I can't wait to finish this.... maybe by this time next week? We'll see.... depends on if I decide to start yet another new project... I seem to have a case of start-itis. I think maybe I should blame it on someone... hmmm, let me think a bit..... who's fault could it be this time? ;-)

Thanks for stopping by & happy stitching!

Woooohoooo!!

I finished Shepherd's Bush "My Earth" last night & I just love it!!! It's getting the Jill Rensel custom mats & I can't wait! :-) I'm going to be starting yet another new project VERY soon... maybe even tonight. I think you can click on it for a larger pic if you like. :-) Isn't it so pretty!!! :-) :-)
I'll have to remember to take a pic of my other new WIP, Brenda Keyes "Heaven Doth Ask". It's going to be beautiful one of these days, but I can't do over 1 every night, would drive me nuts!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Summer Exchange for Becky SC....

Becky received her Summer Exchange pkg. yesterday & I *think* she likes it. I stitched Shepherd's Bush "Peace For All" & made it into a mattress pincushion. I think it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself! :-) Not the worlds greatest pics, but you get the idea....

I have another finish that I can't share now, but I'm so glad to have it finished as well. I started Brenda Keyes/Sampler Company "Heaven Doth Ask" night before last. It's stitched over 1 with DMC. It's going to be beautiful one of these days, but I won't be stitching on it daily. Can't handle the over one with my vision too well these days.

Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stitching!

Last 2 Ornaments & a group shot....

Here are my last two ornaments in the year long ornament swap I have been in. This Shepherd's Bush ornament is from Carolyn TX. Isn't it cute? I forgot to take a picture of the back, but she put her initials & mine with 2009 between them. It's really cute Carolyn, thanks so much for stitching it for me!

And this Brittercup Poinsettia is from Carol. Thanks Carol, it's lovely.

Here is a group shot of all 10 of my ornaments. Thanks to all of you for the ornaments. There sure is a nice variety here.

I had a really fun Saturday with Nicole, Karen & Teresa. We stitched & talked (and talked & talked) and ate & laughed. Renee came by for a few minutes but she had other plans for the day so she didn't hang around. Bet we had more fun than she did though! ;-)
Today I had to break down & run to the grocery store for a few things but first I had to return the George Foreman grill. I don't know if it's just my "luck" or what, but that thing smelled like burning plastic & omg, it was just awful. It took hours to get the smell out the first several times we tried heating it up. I thought maybe it was just because it was new. Well, after about 6 times, it should have stopped with the stink, and when it didn't, forget it! I decided NOT to try another. Instead, I found some skillets that are - now get this - MADE IN THE USA!!! So I bought a set of those instead. Heck, as much as we paid for the stove in our new home, it should be used as often as possible, right? lol I rarely fry anything anyway & Ray grills most of the meat we eat, I just thought the GF grill might be easier. But these will be great for omelets which we do like & when I want to fix something "small". Oh what an exciting life I lead.....
On the stitching front, I did work on something for sevearl hours yesterday (and a bit Saturday), but again, it's a gift so I won't be able to share pics of it. It's turning out rather pretty if I do say so myself. I'm getting a case of start-itis though, so I hope to finish it pretty quick.
Thanks for stopping by......... Happy Stitching!
