A couple of finishes to share....

First is the "Black Sheep" by Sisters & Best Friends that I did for Meghan in the "Christmas Gifts" exchange. Meghan put in her info that she just loves sheep, esp. black sheep, and lime green, so as soon as I saw this, I thought of her. She got it Friday & posted that she really likes it - and I hope she does! :-) It's on 32 ct Lime linen and uses DMC, Kreinik #4 for the Black sheep & WDW Purple Majesty for the words. I decided to make it into a cube and think it turned out kinda cute! :-) (You may recognize the lime green/sheep - I did an ornament for Meghan a couple of months ago in an exchange!).

Next is one of the Blackbird Stockings that I stitched for Donna in the ornament exchange group I've been in for over a year now. I know it was delieverd a couple of days ago, but I haven't heard from Donna yet. I hope she likes it! It's on 30 ct R&R linen & I used WDW or CC floss, I think it's WDW. I've already put them away & didn't make a note of what the colors were, oops! Anyway, it was colors from her favorites info in her sign up info!
I have a couple of other things stitched as well, but not finished & no pics of them yet. Soon.....
Thanks for stopping by & happy stitching!!!

So much to be thankful for....

As Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I wanted to say thanks to my Pals/friends for being who you are. I appreciate you & am thankful to have so many dear friends that I've met though this wonderful world of the internet. :-)

I'm thankful to God for all that he has blessed me with again this year - most things haven't changed (thank goodness for that) - my wonderful husband, our entire family, our home, our business, and the list goes on & on.

I ran across this today & thought I'd share - wonderful isn't it?

Thanksgiving

(Edgar Albert Guest, 1881-1959)

Gettin' together to smile an' rejoice,
An' eatin' an' laughin' with folks of your choice;
An' kissin' the girls an' declarin' that they
Are growin more beautiful day after day;
Chattin' an' braggin' a bit with the men,
Buildin' the old family circle again;
Livin' the wholesome an' old-fashioned cheer,
Just for awhile at the end of the year.

Greetings fly fast as we crowd through the door
And under the old roof we gather once more
Just as we did when the youngsters were small;
Mother's a little bit grayer, that's all.
Father's a little bit older, but still
Ready to romp an' to laugh with a will.
Here we are back at the table again
Tellin' our stories as women an men.

Bowed are our heads for a moment in prayer;
Oh, but we're grateful an' glad to be there.
Home from the east land an' home from the west,
Home with the folks that are dearest an' best.
Out of the sham of the cities afar
We've come for a time to be just what we are.
Here we can talk of ourselves an' be frank,
Forgettin' position an' station an' rank.

Give me the end of the year an' its fun
When most of the plannin' an' toilin' is done;
Bring all the wanderers home to the nest,
Let me sit down with the ones I love best,
Hear the old voices still ringin' with song,
See the old faces unblemished by wrong,
See the old table with all of its chairs
An I'll put soul in my Thanksgivin' prayers.

Wishing you & yours a very happy & blessed Thanksgiving!

Wow..... (Edited on Sunday morning)

Do you ever sit down & think of just how much stash you have? I decided what I wanted to stitch for my mom for Christmas & decided to look for the pattern. Now I'm not very organized when it comes to my stash. I have a general idea of where things are, and that's about it. So I start looking. Here I sit an hour + later & I'm totally disgusted with myself. NO ONE ON EARTH needs 1/4 of the stash that I have. Seriously. I am more than a little ashamed of myself right now. The worst part is I don't know how to organize it - how to get rid of it... there is so much $$ sunk in it. :-(

I keep telling myself that I've been stitching for most of my life - since I was about 8 years old, and that I've REALLY been collecting a lot since I've been online (about 13 years) and that I've still been collecting since DSL, though not as much (mostly imports & limited edition kits/designs). As I looked though my stash tonight though, I totally realize that NO ONE needs this much stash. :-( NO ONE, and there is no excuse for letting it just grow & grow & grow. I feel like a total addict at the moment.

I have to get rid of a good amount of it. And geez, I already have gotten rid of some of it over the past 6 months or so & I haven't even made a dent. Not even a scratch really. :-(

I'm really depressed now. Anyone else ever feel this way?

**Edited - (the morning after) - I know I still have way too much stash, but after reading the comments so far, I don't feel quite as bad about it as I did last night. You're right, it's my "collection", my hobby, and it brings me great happiness. BUT I do need to get rid of some of it anyway - but not 75% of it, that won't happen! lol

Gaby, if you're reading this & want to do a trade, send me an email! :-)

HAPPY SUNDAY STITCHING my friends!

Finally - I've been stitching!!!

Yes, that's news around here folks! ;-) We've been extra busy for about 2 months & I haven't gotten much stitching accomplished at all, but I now have 2 finishes - I just can't share either of them at the moment! They are for exchanages. I hope to finish them in a day or two & get them sent, then I will share pics. I'm so thrilled to be stitching again!

Today was a great day - spent stitching & chatting with Nicole! I haven't seen her in about 2 months, so it was good to have her visit. I think I probably talked her ears off though! ;-) We stitched quite a bit. Both her CaHRH & her Plum Street Paradise Lost are GORGEOUS in person! Her pics are great, but the real thing is even better! ;-) Can't wait until next time....

I'm going to read awhile & finish up a book this evening & then get to stitching - I have several gifts I want to get made before Christmas gets here.

Have a great weekend & happy stitching!

Lovely Kit For Sale!

Okay, when you KNOW you aren't going to stitch something, isn't it best to get rid of it? Thing is, I found something I really, really want & since I promised Ray NO MORE BUYING right now, I figured if I can sell a few things out of my stash, it wouldn't count, right? So maybe this will help out! lol ;-) (Yes, shame on me!)

This lovely "Dogwood Stitchery" kit is by Rae Iverson of Moss Creek Designs. It's a complete kit with linen, all types of threads, needles, ribbon, etc... all you need to stitch the 3 lovely designs shown. It's from a smoke/pet free home & has never been opened. The retail cost is $58 & I'd like $40 which includes postage in the USA/Canada. For other countries, postage would be based on weight.
I prefer PayPal (no CC's) or money order. I do not want to trade at this time, sorry!
If you are interested, please email me!

Thanks so much & happy stitching,
