Couple of finishes to share... (and a recipe!)

Yes, I do still stitch - at least occasionaly! :-) In the first picture, we have "Hoppity" by Stone & Thread. I *think* she may no longer be designing. I've had this in my stash for awhile now. I stitched it on a piece of 32 ct Vintage Blue Whisper Belfast with either GAST or WDW (or a combo) and finished it this afternoon, just in time for Easter. It's been stitched for weeks & weeks, I just haven't done any finishing lately!

Next is "Antique Locks & Keys" by Shakespeare's Peddler that I started last Sat. while the gals were here to stitch. It's on a piece of 32 ct fabric from Lakeside (mystery color from a "scrap bag") and I used GAST Onyx. As you can see, I made it into a pillow. I picked up this fabric on Wednesday just for this and I like the way it turned out!
I will be displaying it with my Pottery Barn keys that Donna gave me last weekend. Ray is going to paint them all a matte black for me as soon as the pollen lets up a bit. Right now I'd have yellow keys - EVERYTHING is yellow - it even looks hazy out there is so much pollen in the air. Insane!
I have been going non-stop since early this a.m. All my laundry is done - I think I've washed everything in the house, clothes, whites, sheets, rugs, quilts, etc. If we aren't wearing it, it's clean! After the finishing, I started another tote bag too - a special order. It's going to be SO CUTE when finished! :-)

We just finished dinner & I made Rosa Marina salad for tomorrow. I was lucky enough to find Orzo noodles Wed. at the store.... haven't been able to find any for at least 5 years. I told my mom & she is all excited. (Yep, doesn't take much sometimes!) ;-)

For anyone who wants a great warm weather dessert, here is "our" recipe:
1 lb Orzo noodles
1 lg can pineapple tidbits
1 lg or 2 small cans mandrain oranges
1 large jar cherries
12 oz cool whip
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tbsp flour
2 beaten eggs
Cook noodles according to directions on pkg. Drain, rinse in cold water, put in LARGE bowl (lid needed). Drain pineapple juice & orange juice into saucepan, add sugar, salt, 2 beaten eggs, flour and cook until thick. Pour over noodles, stir well and put in fridge overnight. (Make sure the bowl is big, it will swell up and you still have to have room for the fruit!) Next day, add drained fruit (don't forget to drain cherries) and cool whip. The recipe makes A LOT but it will last a week in the fridge or it's great for a crowd. It's really good & not too fattening, and I don't like cool whip & neither does Ray, but we don't mind it in this. :-)

Now I think I'm going to find a book or find something else to stitch - whatever will it be??? I don't have nearly enough stash you know....
Thanks for stopping by - happy stitching & wishing you & yours a happy & blessed Easter!

love love the keys by shakespeare peddler. I have this one too to stitch but plan on doing it over one i think to fit on an old "cheeseboard" (kinda looks like a hornbook) and add key hooks for us to hang our keys on. but we will see how that plan works out. :)

I really love the Keys pillow! And I love all your keys too. Why I never thought of painting the ones I've found is beyond me. Thank goodness there are bloggers that have more on the ball than I do and I can learn something from them!!!

Sounds like you and I were doing the same thing this weekend - washing! I cleaned out my closet and packed away winter clothes which meant summer clothes had to come out and be washed - just a vicious cycle! Love the pillows. The key one is just perfect to go with your new key collection!

I am way behind on reading blogs. Love your finishes. Enjoyed the pics of the car shows, you and I have pretty much the same taste in cars. Looks like a lot of fun stitching with friends.
