Goodies! I have goodies!!!!

Last week was a super busy week, and though I wish I could say I stitched a lot, it's just not the way it went.... oh well! Yesterday was a good day though, several friends came to stitch with me and we had a great time! Nicole brought me a gift she knew I'd go nuts over - look!! First, she tied it with lovely red ribbon....
And she is too smart... she knew I was drooling on my keyboard looking at her post about her quilt shopping & apparently she had been thinking about me beforehand. I am a total fabric-a-holic & LOVE fabrics/fat quarters and she picked out some cute ones didn't she? I already have something picked out to use the one with the trees on & she agreed that it would be perfect... maybe I'll get to it soon & I can show you! :-) And if you don't have a "Purple Thang", they are great, they really do work! Thanks again Nicole, it was very sweet of you to think of me & I appreciate it very much!
Next up, when the mail came, and I saw the return address on the envelope, I KNEW I was in for a real treat! I'm in a Christmas Ornament Exchange Group & this time Marie P had my name (woooohoooo!) and lookie here.... first, the packaging (adorable!) yes, those are tiny Christmas lights!

And it's M Designs "Joy Tree" stitched over one & finished into a stunning ornament! I ADORE it!

And here is the back. Don't you love that fabric?
Thank you again Marie, it's GORGEOUS & I do love it! :-)
The gals yesterday did get me motivated to stitch a bit, which I'm going to get to very shortly. First I have to get my ornament packaged & ready to put in tomorrow's mail! :-)
I hope to have some finishes to show you by this time next week! :-)
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stitching!

My exchange to Carol R....

Carol received her exchange piece yesterday, and here is a picture of it. You can see MUCH better pics on her blog. Her pics are always lovely, and you can see all of her other wonderful work! Anyway, looking at Carol's wish list helped me to decide to stitch Ewe & Eye & Friends Brown Bunny. I used 32 ct Antique Ivory Belfast, DMC floss & the back is a Blackbird Designs Moda fabric, as shown in the background of the pic above. I love how it turned out & I do plan to make one for myself, only changing the initials.
I finally stitched last night and hope to get back to it this evening. I have not been in the mood to stitch lately & that isn't good at all.
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stitching!!

Isn't this GORGEOUS!?!?!

It IS gorgeous isn't it?!?! Carol R. & I did a private exchange.... and look at this BEAUTIFUL cube that she made for me, in red of course! I'm just so thrilled to have one of these, as my quest for the pattern has been in vain. Carol was kind enough to offer to do a private exchange so I could stop wishing so hard for one! ;-) Wasn't that sweet of her? She used 35 ct Optic White linen & Glorianna Poinsettia Silk floss. She also made this lovely Swarvoski crystal fob for me, and it's lovely too. I haven't been doing exchanges lately, so this was a double treat - to get something in the mail & also to get something I wanted so much! Thank you again Carol, I LOVE IT! :-)
Oh, and the bottom is stitched too (same design as the top). My pic came out blurry though, so I didn't add it. Just know it's all lovely! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend filled with stitching!

Darn CUTE Quaker...

Okay, I know, I don't need another thing to add to my "to be stitched" list, but darn it all, it's just too cute! I borrowed the picture - this was stitched by Virginie, lovely color choices imho! :-)

Petra & I are going to have a SAL starting Sept. 1st - anyone want to join in? You can find quite a few pics here - http://www.jardinprive.com/index.php?page=galerie and you can go here to buy the chart, etiher a PDF file or a paper pattern - http://www.jardinprive.com/index.php?mod=QC03

Okay, back to work for me... have a great day & HAPPY STITCHING! :-)

Had to add 2 more pics - I kinda like the 3 colors in this design & I always stitch Quakers in monochrome.... something different this time I think! :-)

Another week, a few finishes....

I can't beleive it's now the middle of August. I feel like I go to bed & several days pass.. time is just flying by!

Last week was a busy week with first one thing then another. I did stitch a few ornaments for the Pals Fall Fling ornament exchange. I hope to get some finishing done on those this week sometime. Yesterday one of my friends via Pals came up & I helped/taught her how to do some finishing. We finished 6 ornaments & they turned out pretty cute I think. She was happy with them, so that made me happy too! It was fun to spend time with her & teach her a little bit at the same time! :-) I also finished the private exchange piece that's going out to my "new" friend in the UK (waving hell0!)! It's going out in tomorrow's mail.... I do hope you will like it... I DO! :-) I'll post a pic once she has received it.

Last night I decided to stitch another ornament & opened a drawer that had ornament "stuff" in it & ran across 3 Tokens & Trifles "stockings" that I picked up last year at the retreat with the free patterns, so I thought, WHY NOT! I stitched the snowflake one last night & started on the quaker one and then finished it up tonight. I think they're kinda cute and boy were they EASY to do! I might give one to my mom & keep the other... not sure yet.

See, aren't they cute? Sometimes it's fun to do something that's just so EASY! 18 ct paper & one color of floss is EASY & fun! :-)

I am going to do a few more ornamens & then get back to one of my larger WIP's that I haven't touched in awhile. I just get in the mood to stitch ornaments & can't seem to stop. It's a bit like eating chips (or chocolate!), you can't eat/stitch just "one"!

Have a great week ahead & happy stitching!

OH! New Prairie Schooler Patterns...

Have you seen the new Prairie Schooler charts? If not, take a peek here - http://www.downsunshinelane.com/new.htm

I LOVE Christmas Eve & Holly Holidays... I think I've been on a Christmas kick the last week or so... though I don't know WHY! lol
The others are cute too of course and I like them too, esp the rabbit on Fall Fields & house from Boo To You. There is also a CUTE cat on a pumpkin on the back of Boo To You! I think I've been on a Christmas kick the last week or so... though I don't know WHY! lol

I stitched two ornaments this week and started on a personal exchange that I HOPE to finish in a few days. :-) It's going to the UK, so I want to get it on it's merry little way to a very nice stitcher!

Hope you have a great weekend & happy stitching,
Amy
