Where are the days going???

Another week has passed by & I haven't stitched or finished a thing! I hope to get some of both done today, wish me luck!

I've been trying to get ready for the Pals Fall Fling. My friend Renee came over Thursday afternoon & again yesterday afternoon & we got a lot of it done, yeah! I'm so thrilled to have so much ready now. I still have the "stitching homework" for the Maderia Tin Class by Jane Timmers to do though. Maybe this week I can start on that.

Thanks to all who posted about my finishes last week. I appreciate the kind words very much!
Karin, your questions about the JN Halloween pieces, the threads I used are exactly what the pattern called for. Maybe the pic looks brighter than it is on your monitor. It's pretty "true" on mine. Hope this helps!

To answer Ruth's questions in her blog:

Choosing right this very minute -- If you could go home tonight and put the very last stitch in one piece that you have NOT yet started, what would it be?

I think my first choice would be Just Nan's Common Ground, which I've had kitted up for at least a couple of years! I've seen many pics of it & it looks much better than in the pic below.

And if the same magic applied to going home tonight and putting the last stitch on some WIP or UFO of yours....?

It would probably be my personalized sampler by Stepahine of Nouveau Encore Designs. I don't have a pic of it on this computer, oh well. It would be between that & Rosewood Manor's "And A Forest Grew". Actually, I'd like BOTH finished! Ruth, have you come up with a way to make this happen yet? ;-)

Have a great week ahead & happy stitching!

I have been stitching.... really I have! See.....

I just haven't got a lot I can show at this point! I DO, however, have something I stitched & finished for myself to show you.... this is the newest Just Nan "Boo!" In The Tin/Over The Top series pieces. I think they turned out cute. The small piece is a needlecase. It seemed to take forever to stitch for such a tiny piece. I didn't sign up for ANY Halloween exchanges, so I decided I'd stitch something "Halloween" for myself! :-)

Next is the piece I stitched last month when I had all those friends over to stitch, My Big Toe's "Give Me The Cookie". I love this simple little design. It looks more crooked in the pic than it really is, though I do need to move that last cookie button down just a tad....

Last but not least, this is the needleroll I sent to Nela in my first Hooked on Exchanging exchange. I haven't heard from her as to if she has gotten it yet, but it's been awhile since it was mailed. I sure hope it has arrived by now. From what I could gather from her blog, she likes roses and/or the colors pinks/rose, so I decided to stitch this LHN design & finish it into a needleroll. I do hope she likes it.

I have other finishes too..... mostly ornaments, but I don't have the finishing done yet. All but one of them are for the Pals Fall Fling next month & the other one is for Vonna in the monthly ornament exchange group we are in. I'll get pics posted when I get them finished.

Thanks for looking & have a great week ahead.

Happy stitching!

Two LOVELY exchanges received....

Look at this WONDERFUL Mattress pin cushion from Leena -- and look at the back!

She did an amazing job and I love it! She is so very creative and I am thrilled as can be with this lovely piece. Thank you again Leena!
Oh, this was my "wish" on the Make A Wish BB exchange group - great group btw!

I received my first HoE exchange from Nic W. and it's a beautiful Needleroll. Nic says the design is by Gail Bussi, and I'm a big fan of Gails so it's perfect! Isn't this so dainty & pretty?

And here is a pic of all the other goodies that Nic included, just wonderful as well, esp. the floss tag ring! Thank you so much Nic, I love it all & I'm just thrilled that you chose this to stitch for me! :-)

My HoE NR has been finished for oh, over 2 weeks & I forgot to mail it. I had intended to send it yesterday but didn't get finished before the mailman came. It's going to go out Tuesday & has a way's to go, but I hope the recipient will like it. I feel so dumb, but the past couple of weeks have been just crazy and I just put it to the side & forgot about it. :-(

Thank you for the well wishes in the commets in my last blog entry. I was feeling pretty rough last week. I'm better now (I think) & hope it stays that way. I had a terrible time with migraines when I was really young (very early 20's) but thought I had gotten over them, only having several a year. Now they seem to be "flaring up" for lack of a better way to put it. Let's hope they go away soon!

I keep meaning to say thank you to those who have given me the blogger awards. I haven't posted them & picked others because it is so hard to do. I read a lot of blogs & have lots of favorites. Thank you to those who have chosen me, I do appreciate it so much!

For those are in the path of Hurricane Gustav, please be safe. If you are told to leave, please do so. It's been almost 19 years since we sat through a MAJOR hurricane, but I will never forget it as long as I live. It was one of the scariest nights of my life. I will be praying for you & everyone in it's path.

Hope everyone has a happy Labor Day - I plan to stitch as much as possible! :-)

Lovely SBEBB Biscornu exchange from CathyB!

Look at this wonderful biscornu from Cathy B... isn't it pretty & so very colorful? I really like the design she chose. She did a fab job on it & the finishing is amazing!!! I LOVE fabrics & there is no where to buy ANY around here. :-) I can't wait to stitch something to use them & the ribbon for finishing. Thank you again Cathy for the biscornu & all the wonderful goodies, it's all wonderful!

I haven't stitched in days as I've been a bit busy & I've had a headache for 3 days now. Last night I was just sick with it. I've spent the better part of two days this week at the doc's office... such a long wait & I hate wasting time waiting. Too bad they don't charge you based on how long you wait... the longer you wait the cheaper the bill. Wouldn't that be nice. I think they'd have owed me on Monday. Today was a bit better, but we had to go 30 miles each way to get there & basically I was told exactly what I though & if my own regular doctor would actually TAKE THE TIME to listen to what a patient says, I could have saved lots of $$. Sorry to vent, but I'm a tad ticked off!!!! Oh well... at least the news was pretty much what I expected & nothing major. The jury is still out on the visit from Monday...

I hope this headache goes away soon so I can stitch! Hope your week is going well! Thank you again Cathy!!!

Two RR Finishes....

I have been working on a couple of RR's this week in the Ackworth Friendship RR that Terry set up earlier this year. I *think* I have two more to stitch on. Renee has one of them now & we should see each other in the next couple of days to trade. I am enjoying stitching on these & can't wait to get mine back (it's RED of course!). ;-)
Once again I forgot to take a pick of what I stitched last Sat. while my Pals were here. I actually started & finished a super easy piece that turned out so cute. I'll try to remember to get a pic of it in a day or two. Need to decide how to "finish" it! :-)
I am working on something now for the Pals Fall Fling that I can't share, but I think it's cute! ;-) I hope to stitch lots tomorrow as I have no other plans, so we'll see.

Happy stitching!

SURPRISE in the mail today!

Dear sweet Louise (aka WeezieFL) sent me a wonderful surprise that I just LOVE! Look at this adorable bunny floss ring tag, isn't it cute!??!?! And she made it just for me!!! And she also sent me some super-duper fat quarters from the quilt shop she works at! I LOVE THEM! For those that don't know, I'm a fabric addict as well as a stash addict & one can NEVER have too many fabrics to chose from when it comes to sewing/finishing/etc. These are all precious too, Louise has wonderful taste, don't you think?! :-) It was a total surprise and I'm thrilled to know that Louise was thinking of me. She's always been one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met and I think the world of her. Thank you again Louise for thinking of me! :-) You made my day! :-)

Happy stitching everyone!!!

Stitching with friends....

Yesterday was stitching with friends and I think & hope everyone had a good time. There were 11 of us & there were ladies here from 9 a.m. until almost 10:30 p.m. Char & Teresa came down from OH & KY, also folks here from NC & SC as well. We talked, laughed, stitched, ate (some shopped at DSL) and Nicole & I finished our LHN "Chocolate Box" pieces into cubes. We only got a few pics and sorry, none of the food/goodies, but there was more than enough here to eat, sub platter from Subway, chips of all kinds, a Cheescake (assorted flavors), a chocolate cake, cheese danish, cookies and "Redneck something or other" (can't remember what she called it) that Renee made that was a big hit. Uses saltine crackers, brown sugar, butter & chocolate chips. Was really good too! ;-)

Below is Renee & when Ray took the pics & he said this was a "serious stitcher with her headgear" or something like that. She isn't going to like me posting this pic... wonder if she looks at my blog? ;-) Guess we'll find out!

Here are the "Chocolate Box" finishes. Mine has the red (of course) and Nicole's has the pink. She was going to go home, take it apart & try again. I think she did a great job for her first time finishing a cube!

Thanks for visiting... hope you have a great day & happy stitching!

F&S Finished....

Okay, so it took me longer to get it done & posted than I had planned, but it was a crazy week! ;-) I finished it yesterday but the lighting was so bad I couldn't get a decent pic at all. This one isn't the best, but you get the idea! I had ordered several Trail Creek Farm pillows that I really liked because of the fabric, with no real idea as to what I was going to do with them. I though when this piece came from Marie that it would work well on this pillow, and I think it did. I like it anyway, and that's what counts, right? ;-) Thanks again Marie, I do love it!

I haven't stitched all week, but I HOPE to get some stitching in this weekend. I'll try to remember to take some pics tomorrow so everyone can see how much fun it was! ;-) Wish you could all join us. Have a great weekend & happy stitching!

Fair & Square #8 from Marie P....

These are gorgeous.... I'm thrilled with them! I even think I know how I'm going to finish them & if all goes as planned, I'd like to have them done today! :-) Can you tell I'm excited!?!?!?!??! Thank you again Marie... I LOVE them!!!!

Hope to edit with a "finished picture" later today or at least no later than tomorrow! :-)

Happy stitching!

My first finish in ages....

that ISN'T for a gift or an exchange that is! :-) This is LHN's Chocolate Box (with some color changes of course!). I think it turned out pretty cute, but geez, it seemed to take FOREVER to stitch for such a small design. I'm having friends over to stitch this coming Saturday (wanna join us?) and Nicole is supposed to stitch hers & bring it & I'm going to show her how to finish it into a cube. Is yours finished yet Nicole? It will probably take her one evening to stitch it as fast as she is! ;-) Now, do I pick up a UFO, work on one of my few exchanges left on my list or start something completely new? Hmmmmm..... decisions, decisions......

Thanks for looking & have a great week ahead!!
